Tasting Notes
The 2024 Maucaillou is open-knit and inviting. Floral and earthy undertones meld into a core of red-toned fruit. Although a bit soft, Maucaillou offers lovely freshness and solid balance for the year.

The 2024 Maucaillou has quite a perfumed, floral bouquet with black cherries, blueberries and a hint of pressed violet. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. There is something ferrous about this Moulis. It has a more savoury, almost southern-Italian-like finish, which I can abide.
With a strong floral accent to the red berry-oriented perfume, the medium-bodied wine is fresh, forward, soft, and fruity, with a core of red pit fruits that finishes with a savory edge. This will be easy to enjoy with pleasure on release.
A medium-bodied, textured and juicy red with berries and some raw chocolate on the nose. Fine, firm tannins with good volume and a flavorful, persistent finish.
About the producer

Owned by the négociant Dourthe, this Moulis property has 87 hectares of vines today (with 67 added by Philippe Dourthe since 1967). Managed and made by an expert team, the quality here is hardly surprising.
