Tasting notes
FINE+RARE, Apr 2025

With a menthol herbal edge and spicy notes, this offers a lush yet dense palate, with an impressive weight of fruit and polish. Nubuck tannins and polished red fruit sit alongside the bright acidity, with a twist of redcurrant on the finish. Aged in 50% new oak. 13% alcohol and 3.62pH. Blend: 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot

Deep garnet-purple colored. Springs with lively notes of Bing cherries and black raspberries, leading to suggestions of rose bud tea, wild sage, and pencil shavings. The light to medium-bodied palate is energetic with red berry flavors and great tension, framed by fine-grained tannins, finishing minerally.

Ripe blackcurrants, scorched earth, graphite, and spicy notes all define the 2024 Le Petit Mouton De Mouton Rothschild. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has remarkable purity, fine tannins, and a great finish. It's a charming, layered, certainly outstanding, Pauillac in the making.

The 2024 Le Petit Mouton offers up aromas of crème de cassis and toasty new oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied, taut and chunky palate built around tangy acids and chalky tannins.
