Deep ruby plum, medium intensity, attractive vivid purple around the rim, with cloves and spiced rosemary on the opening, soft berry fruits, plenty of promise but the tannins close things down pretty quickly through the mid palate.
The 2024 Lanessan takes time to open on the nose, but eventually delivers well-defined blackberry and cedar scents in a classic Left Bank style. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannins, not complex but at least fresh with a dab of black pepper on the short finish. This just needs a couple of years in bottle.
Vibrant currants, cedar, flowers, tobacco, espresso, and spearmint nuances are all over the place here. Medium-bodied, chewy, fresh, and crisp, give the wine just a year, or two in the bottle and it will be ready to deliver its charms for 15 or more years with ease.
