Pure. Croquant. Bright red and darker berry fruits. Glassy and very fine in its purity and clarity. Layers of silk. Lots of cassis. This is nicely handled and gains in quality with each year. It expresses the vintage just as it deals with its challenges very well.

Notes of green bell pepper, spices and licorice introduce the 2024 La Garde, a moderately weighted, lively and taut wine with an incisive mid-palate that finishes short and slightly green.

The 2024 La Garde is a very pretty, elegant Pessac-Léognan. This wine has come a long way in recent years. That is evident even in the 2024, a wine that shows notable purity despite the mid-weight structure of the year. Red-toned fruit, flowers, mint and spice are nicely delineated throughout.

The 2024 La Garde has decent fruit concentration on the nose within the context of the vintage: blackberry, redcurrant and light cedar scents. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins and moderate depth but it lacks a bit of flesh and feels just a tad undernourished on the finish. Early drinking.
