Tasting notes
The 2024 La Croix St Georges signals this estate's continuing progress. Not only is winemaking and élevage more refined, but some vigor is being restored to this early-ripening, well-drained site. Offering up attractive aromas of dark berries, plums, fruitcake and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and suave, with a layered, enveloping harmonious profile that belies the vintage.

Flirting with full ripeness, plum and damson fruits, high acidities softened by espresso and tar. Would benefit from greater balance but has an unfussy charm.
Flowers, black cherries, orange rind, chocolate, and a touch of cocoa power the nose. The palate is medium-bodied, soft, creamy, fresh, and focused on its core of ripe, cherries, and licorice. The wine is produced from 100% Merlot. 14.2% ABV.
Some incense and cedar to the black cherries and tapenade. Bright and juicy on the palate with medium body, fresh tannins and crunchy fruit. Good length in the finish.
