Tasting Notes
Full of sweet spice, this offers deep red plum, with intensity and lift. The enticing nose leads to a bright-fruited palate, the acidity present, yet complemented by smooth, ripe cherry fruit, supple tannins and integrated oak. There’s a profundity here that is promising. Aged in 100% new oak, 13.35% and 3.49pH. Blend: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc

From a tiny parcel on the upper plateau (with a touch of hillside) not far from Pavie Macquin, the 2024 Château La Clotte has brilliant notes of ripe black raspberries, spring flowers, chalky minerality, and subtle hints of white truffle. It's wonderfully pure and medium-bodied, with a focused, layered mouthfeel and gorgeous tannins. The blend is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, and the wine is resting in 100% new oak.
Deep garnet-purple colored. Starts off a little closed, soon unfurling to offer up scents of cedar chest, fresh mulberries, and blackberries, plus hints of black tea and Sichuan pepper with a waft of wild sage. The medium-bodied palate is tightly wound with vibrant red berry and mineral layers, framed by ripe, grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing long and perfumed. Nice!
Offering up aromas of blackberries, minty raspberries and sweet toasty oak, the 2024 La Clotte is medium to full-bodied, dense and vibrant, with tangy acids, chalky tannins and a penetrating finish.
