Soft ruby red, tobacco, raspberry leaf, redcurrant fruits, gentle campfire smoke, this starts off with a caress but the acidity is pretty gripping towards the finish and cuts things off. Vignobles Dourthe.
The 2024 Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac is a very good wine from a property that has been inconsistent. Dark red-toned fruit, blood orange, new leather, cinnamon and dried flowers lend notable aromatic complexity. Hints of pomegranate and spice develop with time in the glass. There's more than enough depth to make me think the 2024 has the potential to turn out quite well.
The 2024 Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac has a light undergrowth-tinged bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied and fresh, with grainy tannins and a dash of black pepper on the finish that feels a bit dry and austere.
