The 2024 Franc-Mayne is one of the vintage's overachievers. Bursting with aromas of blackberries, cherries and petals, this 100% Merlot cuvée (young Cabernet Franc vines haven't yet entered into production) is medium to full-bodied, layered and impressively textural, with lively acids and a broad, expansive finish.

Attractive, bright fruits, not a big shouldered wine but it has charm and balance, and a burst of fresh fruits, kiwi, red cherry, pumice stone, tobacco leaf, drawn out with potential for ageing. 30 hl/ha yield.

The 2024 Franc Mayne,100% Merlot, is fabulous. Rich, layered and enveloping, the 2024 is superb. Dark raspberry, mocha, licorice, incense and rose petal are some of the many notes that build in the glass. More than anything else, Franc Mayne speaks to balance. I especially admire its understated power and overall harmony. The 2024 spent six weeks on the skins. Tasted two times.

The 2024 Franc Mayne is another Right Bank wine that feels a bit pushed in the winery, with pruney notes on the rather smudged nose. The palate is actually better with fine grip and structure, though it feels a bit hollow on the mid-palate and leaves the finish feeling rather dry.
