Tasting Notes
A blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2024 Fonréaud is oakier than previous years, evoking aromas of vanillin, spices and dark berries. Medium-bodied, enrobing and structured, it's a bit firm with an ethereal, short finish.

The 2024 Fonréaud has a high-toned nose with cassis and blueberry fruit. It's a little more floral than usual, though not as complex as other vintages. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. It's peppery in style with a simple, classical, slightly reserved finish. This is not particularly exciting but it is balanced and fresh.
Soft, forward, supple, and fruity, with a bit of creaminess to its red fruits on the palate, and in the finish, you can enjoy this with ease on release.
Simple sour cherries, potpourri and red berries. The tannins are a bit chewy with medium body and a medium-length finish.
About the producer

Situated at the highest point in the Médoc (at a huge 43 metres above sea-level), this estate is thought to be named after a spring on the site, from which Henry II supposedly drank (a “royal fountain”).
