Tasting Notes
A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, the 2024 du Tertre unwinds in the glass with notes of cassis, plums, a touch of licorice and spices. Medium to full-bodied, bright and lively, with sweet tannins and good depth for the vintage, it's the result of a harvest that began on September 24 and concluded on October 8.

Chalk, slate, rosebuds, super charming, this is a carefully constructed, remains a little bit on the quiet side of the vintage, walks the line of ripeness, with an understated finesse and plenty of Margaux typicity. Helfrich family owners, 40hl/ha yield.
The 2024 du Tertre is packed with blackberry, graphite, incense, licorice, chocolate and cloves, all of which confer somber gravitas. There's enough depth to make me think the 2024 will come together nicely in the cellar. This is nicely done.
The 2024 Château du Tertre has a delineated and focused bouquet, with pure black plum, blueberry fruit and violet aromas. The oak is prudently used. The palate is medium-bodied with a bit of chewiness on the entry and light grip. This attenuates slightly toward the finish but there is freshness and sapidity. Not a long-term du Tertre but I think it is well made.
