Score 84-86/100 · Drink 2026-2029, Neal Martin, Vinous, Apr 2025

The 2024 Château du Retout Blanc is based around 54% Gros Manseng, 36% Sauvignon Gris and 10% Savagnin. The nose just comes across a bit dull. The palate is slightly better with a honeyed texture and the finish has a nice bitter edge. However, it feels simple and lacks length.

A lovely wine that always stands out during tastings because of its unusual grape blend, and understated hands-off vinification methods. Plenty of taste and texture, apple blossom, citrus, sage, toasted almonds, liqourice, bruised apple.
