The 2024 de Myrat has a tightly wound nose that is less expressive than its peers, but it is delineated and clean, with tempting scents of dried apricot and marmalade notes developing in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a rounded mouthfeel, mango, grapefruit and apricot notes, good botrytization and a more complex finish than I was expecting. This is a successful Sauternes in a tricky growing season.
A fruit-driven, sweet but balanced Sauternes with honey and baked oranges. Medium-bodied with a mellow character and a supple finish.
