The 2024 de la Huste is bright, fruity and aromatic. Cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, dried herbs and vibrant red-toned fruit all run through this mid-weight, lithe Fronsac. I especially admire the energy here.

The 2024 de la Huste came across a little volatile on the nose, though it seems to settle down in the glass. The palate is better, with fresh blackberry and blueberry fruit, fine tannins and a short yet focused finish. Fine.

Medium-bodied, floral, fruity, forward, and fresh, the wine is soft, round, open, and vibrant, with loads of sweet red berries, along with a touch of garrigue, and olives in the finish. You can enjoy this on release. The wine blends 95% Merlot, with 5% Cabernet Franc.

A floral, brambly nose with berries and potpourri. Juicy and crisp on the palate, this has light to medium body and a bright, gently chewy finish. Simple but already appealing.
