Tasting Notes
Lovely dark berry fruits. Very pure and precise and lifted too. Wild herbal notes. This feels natural and almost wild as is often case here. A touch of blackcurrant, a little cherry, all bright and crunchy. Fresh and pure over quite an ample frame. Chewy tannins but very finely-grained. Delicate and sapid on the finish. Very juicy. Lovely. Easy and likely to be accessible in its youth.

Notes of cassis and mulberries mingled with spices introduce the 2024 Clos Marsalette, a moderately weighted, juicy, elegant wine framed by brittle tannins and a short oaky finish. This is a blend of 48% Merlot, 52% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc.
Intense, plentiful dark fruits, leafy and chalky but with juice, well balanced if a little austere on the opening, will benefit from a few years in bottle - think two or three before beginning to drink. Deep gravel soils helped with drainage and ripening. Harvest 18 to 29 September. 25% new oak. 47 hl/ha yields.
The 2024 Clos Marsalette is soft and open-knit, with lovely forward fruit and fine balance. Blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice and menthol open nicely in the glass. The 2024 is attractive, although its build is on the mid-weight side, in keeping with the personality of a vintage with low-ish alcohols. Pretty floral overtones from the Cabernets that drive the blend lend freshness and lift.
