Tasting notes
The 2024 Beaune Clos de Roi 1er Cru is a strong follow-up to the previous vintage with a mixture of red and black fruit, hints of sous-bois and orange rind. I like the vitality. The palate is medium-bodied with smooth tannins. Well-judged acidity balanced with an almost understated finish, this is a delightful Beaune that should give up to 15 years' drinking pleasure.

The 2024 Clos du Roy has a fragrant bouquet with blackberry, raspberry and light mocha scents. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit and fine tannins. It's lacking a little depth on the finish but this retains balance and feels composed. It's easy-drinking, but there's nothing wrong with that.
Rustic yet fruity with strawberries and bitter chocolate on the nose. Light- to medium-bodied and chewy.
