Tasting Notes
Bright red and black fruits, graphite, sappy herbs, and flowers emerge from the 2024 Château De France, with background graphite and scorched earth notes. Medium-bodied, nicely focused, amd balanced, with polished tannins, this should be outstanding.

Very red-berry fruited – strikingly different in that respect from the others in the UGC line-up – with leafy redcurrant, cranberry and even pink gooseberry notes. That makes this sound tarter than it is – for it’s actually sweeter on the palate than that implies. Supple and subtle, but quite energetic and dynamic. Fresh but never tart nor astringent nor dry. Distinctive. I rather like this. A property on an upwards track.
Deep garnet-purple colored. Has a nose of stewed strawberries and boysenberries, followed by hints of dried sage and wet slate. The light-bodied palate is lean and chewy with an abrupt finish.
The 2024 Château de France feels pushed and a little smudged on the nose. It lacks the finesse that you can often find in this wine. The palate is medium-bodied with rigid tannins. It's linear in style, with modest weight but a bit monotone on the finish. So-so.
