Tasting Notes
Notes of pear, boxwood, lemongrass and spring flowers preface the 2024 Caillou Blanc de Talbot, a medium-bodied, lively and taut wine with tangy acids. It concludes with a somewhat short finish. This is a blend of 83% Sauvignon Blanc and 17% Sémillon, matured in 30% new oak.

Baking spices, cloves, cumin, preserved lemon, white pear, charming if soft on the finish.
The 2024 Caillou Blanc Talbot was matured in 30% new oak and contains more Sauvignon Blanc this year (83%) due to a new parcel. It has a fresh nose with red apple, tangerine and light chamomile scents that unfold in the glass. The palate is well balanced with an attractive, slightly waxy texture and a fine bead of acidity, with a dash of lemongrass emerging on the finish. This should constitute fine early drinking.
Flowers, pomelo, vanilla, pears, and orange rind notes pop with ease in the perfume, and on the crisp, fruity, palate. I like the lift and energy here. The wine blends 83% Sauvignon Blanc, and 17% Semillon, 13% ABV.
