Tasting notes
The 2019 Cabernet Franc Tinaquaic Vineyard has a medium ruby-purple color and aromas of thyme, green bell pepper, tobacco, graphite and red cherries. The medium-bodied palate offers herbal, earthy fruits and a pleasant touch of rusticity to the texture. It's an easy-drinking Cabernet Franc.

The 2019 Cabernet Franc Tinaquaic Vineyard Heritage Collection showed well, with beautiful blue fruits and classic varietal floral and chocolate notes. Medium-bodied on the palate, it's balanced, has silky, fine tannins, and a great finish. It's beautifully done and a fabulous example of this variety coming out of Santa Barbara County. It should drink well for a decade, most likely longer. I surprisingly found a few of these latest Pinot Noirs from Foxen to be muddled and overtly earthy. Nevertheless, it’s big lineup of wines and there’s lot to like and choose from.
The 2019 Cabernet Franc Tinaquaic Vineyard is beautiful and expressive, with plenty of varietal character in its red fruit, grilled herbs, leather, mocha, menthol and spice. Savory notes are beautifully woven throughout. The 2019 is undeniably appealing, and will drink well right out of the gate.
