Score 96/100 · Drink 2017-2034, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Oct 2017

Coming from a single vineyard on Mount Veeder, very close to the Sonoma County line, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Yates Vineyard has an inky black-purple color and youthfully reticent nose of red and black currants, blackberries and mulberries with hints of cigar boxes, pencil lead, bay leaves, yeast extract and fertile loam. The medium to full-bodied palate is seriously intense and tightly wound with layers of earth, black and red fruit flavors plus a solid backbone of firm, ripe, grainy tannins, finishing with plenty of depth and expression. What a beauty!
