1997 Cabernet Sauvignon

Good medium red. Cassis, blackberry, licorice and coffee on the nose, accented by pepper and herbal nuances. Shows good life in the mouth but with as much mocha and coffee torrefaction as dark berry fruit. Certainly juicy and alive but a bit clenched: will this harmonize and soften with more time in bottle? The tannins are a bit tough and dry-edged, and some tart acidity gives the wine energy, but where can it go from here?
