Tasting notes
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) sashays out of the glass with beautiful blueberry compote, plum preserves and warm cassis notes plus wafts of candied violets, cedar chest and iron ore with an earthy touch of underbrush. Full-bodied, rich and seductive, the palate has a wonderfully plush texture and just enough freshness to support the generous black fruit preserves and earthy/minerally nuances, finishing very long and fragrant. 465 cases were made.

The red is also terrific. Revealing a deep ruby/purple color, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville has textbook Bordeaux-like aromas and flavors of black and red fruits, tobacco, charcoal embers, and earth. With a complex herbal character, medium to full body, beautiful purity and elegance, and a great finish, it’s a beauty that has another 15-20 years of longevity ahead of it. These Rewa releases are made by Celia Welch and come from the cooler Coombsville AVA located in the southern part of Napa Valley.
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is a gorgeous wine. Dark, intensely mineral and savory, the 2016 expresses all the essence of what makes Coombsville such an exciting appellation. Dark, sumptuous and mysterious, with tremendous character, the 2016 has a lot going on. Tightly wound and full of energy, the 2016 is superb.
