Tasting notes
Bright violet color. Fresh dark fruit and exotic floral scents take on pipe tobacco and succulent herb nuances as the wine stretches out. Sappy and light on its feet, offering juicy blackberry, bitter cherry and vanilla flavors that turn sweeter on the back half. Youthfully taut on the sharply focused and extremely persistent finish, which features fine-grained tannins and a lingering suggestion of candied rose. (20 months in new French oak barrels)

Aged 20 months in 100% new French oak, the deep ruby-purple colored 2017 Cabernet Franc Estate opens with wafts of blackcurrant bud, tar, black soil, chargrill and licorice over warm wild blackberries, red fruit sparks, cedar, dried herbs and sweet oak spices. The palate is full-bodied and nuanced, with crunchy, herb-laced black fruits and a firm frame, finishing long and warm with just enough freshness.
Terrific blue fruit, crème de cassis, earth, and violet notes emerge from the 2017 Cabernet Franc. It’s a beauty, displaying full-bodied richness paired with a great sense of purity and freshness. It’s a big wine, yet flawlessly balanced.
