The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard has a Graves-like bouquet of darker currants, smoked tobacco, cold fireplace, and chocolate. This carries to a full-bodied Cabernet that has a great mid-palate, plenty of ripe tannins, and a great finish. This valley floor site always yields a darker, classic style of Cabernet, and this beauty will benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for 15-20 years.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard is packed with blueberry jam, crème de cassis, new leather, lavender, licorice and bittersweet chocolate that all race across the palate. Opulent and dramatic in the glass, the 2019 possesses tremendous depth and tons of pure power. It's a fabulous Cabernet from an Oakville site that is turning out some pretty special wines these days.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper sings of stewed red and black plums, crème de cassis and wild blueberries, plus suggestions of violets, dusty soil and wild sage. Full-bodied, laden with flavors and solidly structured, the palate delivers taut, muscular black fruits and lots of earthy nuances on the long finish. A classic, stunning expression of Missouri Hopper!

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard captures all the breadth and intensity of this site, but with a bit more energy and vibrancy than the 2018 tasted alongside it. Missouri Hopper Cabernets can rarely be called elegant, but that is exactly what the Purlieu 2019 is. I can't wait to see how it turns out in finished form.
