Tasting notes
The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon is terrific. Rich and forward, the 2022 is a bit extroverted for Frog's Leap, but all the elements are so well balanced. The Cabernet is typically in a blend from three ranches—Rossi, Chavez-Leeds and Red Barn—but in 2022, most of the wine is from Rossi and Chavez-Leeds, as Red Barn was mostly declassified because the fruit was compromised by the year. Ripe red cherry fruit, blood orange and spice notes convey an impression of exoticism that is super distinctive.

Full bottle 1,296 g. Natural malolactic fermentation completed in barrel. Aged 20 months in new (maximum 10%) and neutral French oak. Unfined and unfiltered. Certified organic. Deep purple. Savoury earthy nose with gravelly dusty notes and underlying black and red fruit. High, bright acidity and super-fine, building tannin. Dry finish. Restrained and balanced with only a lick of oak. A wine built for the table. GV for Napa. (SCJ)
Juicy and polished, this offers crushed dark berries, blue flowers, black olives and crushed herbs. Medium- to full-bodied with fine tannins and vivid acidity, finishing sleek and vivid. Drink or hold.
