Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2006, Pierre Rovani, Oct 1999
The medium to dark ruby-colored 1997 Clos Vougeot exhibits huge ripeness in its otherwise tight aromatics. This is a big, broad, sur-maturite-laced wine, with flavors reminiscent of a compote of red and black fruits. Suave, medium to full-bodied, possessing lovely intensity and a spice-laden finish, this wine should be consumed over the next 6-7 years.
