Tasting notes
The 2019 Pinot Noir Kanzler Vineyard is the first iteration of this single-vineyard bottling. It offers aromas of wild berries and citrus peel with earthy undertones of tobacco, laurel leaves and woodsmoke. The medium-bodied palate is atypical of the lush, fruity style associated with the Russian River Valley—the Kanzler is silky, refreshing and light on its feet with intriguing botanical streaks and a long finish that unfurls to layered, earthy nuances.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Kanzler Vineyard is from a cool site in the southern end of the appellation, south of Sebastopol. It is lifted with poppy red fruits, wild raspberry, fresh rosehip, and sweet spice. The palate is charming and medium bodied, with its florality continuing through the palate, with fine tannins. Drink over the next 10-15 years.
The 2019 Kanzler Vineyard is a very pretty wine from this Russian River site. Rose petal, sweet red cherry, mint, spice and blood orange are all nicely delineated in this perfumed, mid-weight offering.
