The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla Valley comes from a mix of the Seven Hills (61%) and Pepper Bridge (39%) vineyards and is all Cabernet aged 20 months in 60% new French oak. Decadent cassis, ripe plum, currants, tobacco leaf, and chocolaty spice notes define the bouquet, and it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a plush, expansive mouthfeel, tons of sweet fruit, and a great finish. It brings beautiful sweetness of fruit yet is structured and balanced, with the capacity to evolve for 20-25 years.

Tasted as a future, the 2019 Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is not officially released and was submitted with a temporary label. Displaying an opaque center with a vibrant dark purple edge, aromas of boysenberry, blackberry skin and fresh dark cherry sway with sweet fruit tones and black raspberry essence. Full-bodied and gorgeous, the generous mouthfeel already shows immense potential, with a firm tannic structure and juicy essence that reveals its secrets and complexity over the balanced mid-palate. The wine somersaults to a long, evolving finish; this will undoubtedly be a blockbuster release for the estate. Approximately 3,900 bottles will be filled after resting in 50% new French oak. I will reserve my drink dates until the wine is officially released, but the wine is already showing well and has good bones. I'm looking forward to revisiting this closer to its release date.
