Tasting notes
The 2013 Sparkling Chardonnay Brosseau Vineyard packs a good bit more weight than recent vintages. White truffle funk, green apple, toasted spices and crushed oyster shell settle in with authority, benefitting from the richness imbued by time in the bottle. That said, the 2013 is a near-term proposition, as the fruit has begun to dry out.

The 2013 Brosseau Vineyard is perhaps a bit better suited to sparkling wine than the Alder Springs. Striking aromatics and a host of intensely mineral/savory notes - all signatures of the Chalone district - give the wine its distinctive personality. This is a gorgeous sparkling wine from Under the Wire.
The 2013 Sparkling Chardonnay Brosseau Vineyard comes from a vineyard south of San Francisco and again displays lots of wet gravel/stones in its full-throttle, mineral-laced notes along with green apple skin, brioche, caramelized citrus, honeysuckle, and a touch of orange marmalade. This is a delicious, medium-bodied, dry sparkling wine to drink over the next several years.
