Tasting notes
The 2012 Grenache Original Gangster emerges from a parcel in Stagecoach, on Atlas Peak. An expressive, savory bouquet melds into varietal fruit as this silky, precise Grenache show off its polish and class. Grenache is not exactly widely planted in Napa Valley, so this is a real revelation.

The 2012 Grenache Original Gangster Stagecoach Vineyard is a sexy, open-knit, fruit bomb offering lots of lavender, roasted herb, pepper and kirsch liqueur characteristics. This delicious, fruit-forward Grenache can be enjoyed over the next 2-3 years.
Good full red for California grenache. High-pitched perfume of licorice, leather, lavender, wild herbs and nutty oak, plus a subtle honey nuance. Silky-sweet and pliant in the mouth; not yet complex or especially fruity but this should make delicious early drinking. Winemaker Aaron Pott suggests pairing it with meatloaf.
