Tasting notes
The 2019 Chardonnay UV - El Diablo Vineyard is just the opposite of its opulent 2020 counterpart. Its aromas are reticent to begin and focused on stone fruit pit, fresh quince, chamomile, lemon and wafts of meringue and matchstick. The light-bodied palate is tangy and refreshing with delicate apricot flavors and a long, gently nutty finish. Offer it 2-3 years in bottle to unwind.

The 2019 Chardonnay UV-El Diablo Vineyard is flush with fresh green apple fruit, Meyer lemon, dusty earth, and flinty reduction. Full-bodied and rich with texture, the palate is ripe with pineapple candy, vanillin, and baking spice. This was a solid wine to start the flight. Drink over the next 15 years.
The 2019 Chardonnay U.V. El Diablo Vineyard is endowed with plenty of depth. Apricot, peach, floral-infused honey and orange blossoms open in the glass. The Diablo is marked by a real feeling of structure and inner power that leans into the realm of red wine. There is plenty of depth and texture, that is certain.
