Tasting notes
The 2017 Pinot Noir Tripp's Block from the Perli Vineyard in Mendocino Ridge offers more wild strawberry, sassafras, exotic flower, and foresty aromas and flavors to go with a rich, medium-bodied style on the palate. It’s loaded with fruit and reveals ripe, supple tannins, good overall freshness, and outstanding length. It offers plenty of up-front charm today given all its fruit, yet I have no doubt it’s going to evolve nicely for a good 5-7 years.

The medium ruby colored 2017 Pinot Noir Tripp's Block opens slowly on the nose to bergamot, woodsmoke, earth and autumn leaves with pretty red and black berry fruits and loads of spicy, floral accents. The palate is medium-bodied with a great blend of earth and fruit, firm, grainy and fresh with a long, nuanced finish. 349 cases produced.
The 2017 Pinot Noir Tripp's Block is a very beautiful wine laced with all sorts of spice, dried flower and earthy tones. Dark and enveloping, yet light on its feet, the Tripp's Block has a lot going on. I would prefer to cellar it for a few years to allow it to reach its full potential.
