Cask sample. This is a decent wine but a crazy price. I much prefer the Morey-St-Denis 1er Cru Les Chenevery. Not good value. (JH)

The 2023 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru includes 100% whole bunch. This has a backward nose with reluctantly unfolding blackberry and raspberry fruit aromas. It is much less forward than the 2022 last year. This is bashful and surly. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet entry and slightly lower in acidity than I would like. Consequently, I am seeking a little more nervosité on the finish. I will be prudent for now—it just misses a bit of flair.
