Bone dry on the back label. Certified organic. Bliss for Riesling lovers. Mature, steely Riesling with sufficient age and body to stand up to many a savoury food. Bone dry indeed. Gets the saliva flowing. Much denser than most German Rieslings. A solid wine! (JR)

One of the dry riesling stars of the 2019 vintage in Alsace, this marries the power and massive structure we associate with these wines to a stunning vitality that makes this as uplifting as it is impressive. Amazing concentration of lemon curd, stone fruit and chalky minerality right through the diamond-bright long finish. The best ever dry wine from this producer? From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

From the south-facing part of Vorbourg, lower down with a little more topsoil, the 2019 Riesling Clos Saint Landelin opens with smoke, earth and chalk, paired with a hint of dried lemon peel. More air reveals tangerine notes. The palate is concentrated, super-vivid, linear and fresh. There is mouth-watering freshness, supreme balance and an aromatic accord of herb, smoke and vivid, pervasive, delicious citrus. (Bone-dry)

Tasted from a 3 cl mini bottle. Gorgeous nose – ripe, ripe nectarine. Great grip and texture. Pure, ripe fruit shaped by long key-lime-scented acidity. Dry. And piercingly long on the finish. Tastes as if it has been carved from the calcaire of Vorbourg. Very impressive. (TC)
