Herbal citrus, a breath of fresh air. Deep and creamy on the palate and yet the freshness is the dominant impression on the aftertaste. Bright, tight and long. (JH)

The 2020 Pernand-Vergelesses Clos Berthet 1er Cru has a well-defined, quite floral bouquet with scents of orange pith, green apple and just a touch of fern. The palate is well balanced with light tropical tones on the entry, fine acidity though it does not quite kick on as well as the Sous Fretille on the finish. Still, this should give several years of drinking pleasure.
