2017 Domaine Vincent Dureuil-Janthial Rully Vieilles Vignes

The 2017 Rully 1er Cru Gresigny Vieilles Vignes is still quite tightly wound, but it's a fabulous bottle in the making. Unfurling in the glass with notes of citrus oil, crisp green pear, beeswax and pastry cream, it's medium to full-bodied, concentrated and incisive, with a racy spine of acidity and terrific depth at the core, concluding with a long and intensely saline finish. This Gresigny is still four or five years away from really showing its cards, but it's one of the finest wines I've ever tasted from Rully. Bravo to Vincent Dureuil!
