Soft light red. Very stemmy on the nose and also on the palate. Fresh but a bit austere on the palate, though there is a softness to the tannins on the finish. (JH)

The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Village has around 47% whole bunch and 30% new oak. It has a lifted red cherry and redcurrant scented bouquet, the oak seamlessly integrated into the fruit profile. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, missing a little depth in the middle, with a slightly attenuated finish. I might have just dialed down the new oak on this.
