Tasting notes
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon emerges from the Engelhard Vineyard in Napa. The wine carries its 14.5% natural alcohol gracefully and has a dense ruby/purple color, loads of crème de cassis fruit and spice. It’s medium-bodied, pure and certainly another worthy addition to the increasing ocean of high-quality Cabernets coming from Napa Valley, especially in a great year as 2013. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon has developed into a dense, chewy wine with tons of textural depth and pure power. Tobacco, herbs, cedar, smoke, game and dark fleshed stone fruits are all nicely delineated throughout. Veins of mineral and savory-inflected nuances run deep in this distinctive Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon.
As good as the 2012 is, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon may turn out to be even better. Huge and explosive on the palate, the 2013 boasts stunning depth and power. Violets, crushed rocks, blood orange, incense and blackberry jam are all laced into the incisive, strapping finish.
