Tasting notes
90% Viura plus a field blend (Malvasía, Garnacha Blanca, Palomino, Calagraño) from vines averaging 50 years old, ungrafted. Average yield 6,000 kg/ha, elevation 500 m. Chalky citrus aroma with subtle lemon and pear fruit. Light-bodied, chalky-textured, the texture more notable than the fruit. This has more finesse than intensity and really good length. Subtly delicious. Don't rush this. An almost sour freshness on the finish. GV (JH)

The 2021 Tinto Las Parcelas is a Tempranillo-based field blend from Rioja Alavesa. Garnet in hue, with aromas of cherry, red fruit and wild herbs, this is frank and expressive. Dry and medium-bodied, it feels light in structure but is anchored by fine, chalky tannins and a lingering hint of jammy fruit. The 2021 is a clear expression of Sonsierra identity in a gentle, flavorful frame.
