Tasting notes
The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Folatières 1er Cru is precise and focused on the nose, with ample mineralité and tension. The oak is very well integrated in this Puligny. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry, then the concentrated mid-palate delivers slightly honeyed citric fruit laced with ginger and white pepper. Grippy and powerful on the finish, this is a take-no-prisoners offering that packs in a ton of flavor early, but maybe misses some elegance and cuts away a bit short. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru comes from vines located in the lieu-dit of Au Chaniot. It has a vivid bouquet of mineral-rich citrus fruit with lemon curd and light mirabelle aromas. The palate is well balanced with a tangy opening, traces of marmalade and quince and a vibrant, quite concentrated finish. Excellent.
