Score 93/100 · Drink 2006-2013, Robert Parker, Jun 2006

A new winery for this writer, Gamba has produced two impressive Zinfandels. From a vineyard planted in 1920, the superb 2004 Zinfandel Morato Vineyard (which includes dollops of Alicante and Cabernet Sauvignon) boasts an inky ruby/purple hue along with beautifully dense, sweet aromas of flowers, black as well as red fruits, incense, and a hint of wood. It possesses tremendous intensity, a creamy, full-bodied palate, fine purity, and a long, spicy, heady finish. One of the finest Zins of the vintage, it should drink well for 5-7 years. Tel.
