Score 92/100 · Drink 2019-2030, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Oct 2018

Picked on the first of October from 60- and 80-year-old vines in the heart of the cru, the 2014 Alsace Grand Cru Geisberg Riesling is an intense, concentrated, lush and powerful wine with an almost creamy texture and a lovely touch of sweetness. There are first hints of bottle maturity here, but this 2014 is still very young and fresh. There is nice purity and mineral tension on the persistent and aromatic finish. A beautiful Geisberg that was bottled in July 2015. Tasted October 2018.

This is the grand cru now produced by Trimbach for the convent. They have almost 2 ha of it. Tense and dense with an impression of essence of Riesling on the nose. Big and swashbuckling. Opulent. Very well done. (JR)
