Light, green-tinged gold. Spicy lemon, lime, pear and peach skin aromas display excellent focus and vivacity. Medium-bodied, chewy and very concentrated, with intense pear and citrus flavors underpinned by juicy acidity. Finishes impressively long, with the concentration and flavor impact of premier cru Chablis. Incidentally, I just drank a magnum of the 1996 and it was stunning for its purity and depth; it was also still a baby. Lucien Pauvert retired after this vintage.
