Tasting notes
The 2019 Morgon Corcelette comes from 30-year-old vines and undergoes semi-carbonic maceration. It has an upfront, forward bouquet of showy red cherries, red currant jam and, with aeration, more herbaceous/earthy aromas. The fresh, vibrant palate is medium-bodied with lithe tannins, well-judged acidity and a lightly spiced finish. This is the best of Hoppenot's 2019s and it should age well in bottle.

Notes of blackberries, licorice, sweet soil tones, peonies and orange rind introduce the 2019 Morgon Corcelette, a medium to full-bodied, lively wine that's structured around powdery, melting tannins and concluding with a sapid finish. This is quite a fine-boned rendition of Morgon from a higher-altitude, later-ripening site.
