Score 93+/100 · Drink 2026-2034, Eric Guido, Vinous, Jun 2024

The 2021 Jack of Hearts shows dark violet florals and lavender tones before giving way to steeped plums and blood orange. This floods the palate with velvety textures and ripe black fruits as motivated by a core of brilliant acidity, as a web of fine-grained tannins mounts toward the close. A bitter dark chocolate resonance lingers on, along with lift hints of citrus as the 2021 finishes staining and long.

Score 94/100 · Drink 2025-2040, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Dec 2023

The 2021 Jack of Hearts is a blend of 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Petit Verdot, 16% Merlot and 1% Malbec matured for 17 months in 26% once-used French oak. It takes some time to segue from tar to purer tones of blackcurrant, blueberry, aniseed and violet. The full-bodied palate has a deep core of floral fruit that offers optimal ripeness. It has a structure of finely grained tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, fragrant finish.

The 2021 Jack of Hearts is based on 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Petit Verdot, 16% Merlot, and a splash of Malbec. Blackberries, leafy herbs, cedar pencil, and peppery herbs all make an appearance in the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a layered, ripe, yet balanced mouthfeel and a great finish. It's beautifully done, and I love its purity as well as its length. It's another brilliant Bordeaux blend from this team that readers will absolutely love. I would drink bottles over the coming decade, but I see no reason it shouldn’t evolve longer. Joshua Harp’s Jada Vineyard, with help from Napa’s Tony Biagi, has leapt into the top handful of producers in Paso Robles over the last few years and these 2021s might be the best yet.
