Score 90/100 · Drink 2005-2013, Robert Parker, Aug 2003

The most backward offering in this portfolio is the 2000 Syrah Roasted Slope Vineyard. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by restrained aromas of blackberries, currants, and sweet spice. This Syrah should develop well, but at present it needs another 1-2 years of bottle age. Given its depth and length, it may turn out to be better than the Hillside Reserve. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2013. Tel. (805) 686-9604
