Tasting notes
Score 90/100 · Drink 2016-2031, Robert Parker, Apr 2014

The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder (85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc) is less evolved than the Trompettes and reveals more tannin. This well-made, elegant, Bordeaux-styled Cabernet possesses a certain austerity, but the sweetness of its Napa fruit comes through. Medium to full-bodied with copious notes of cassis, cherries and forest floor, it seems backward compared to its siblings, so give it 2-3 more years of cellaring and drink it over the following 15+.
