2005 Domaine François Jobard Meursault Blagny 1er Cru

Good pale color. Intriguing nose melds peach, white flowers, wild herbs and spicy oak. Rich, thick flavors of stone fruits, minerals and spices, with some sexy soft citrus tones emerging as the wine opens in the glass. Firm acidity gives this a youthfully taut impression. Jobard told me he pulled up his pinot noir vines in Blagny after the 2006 harvest and will plant this parcel to chardonnay in a few years, which will allow him to double production of this cuvee to about ten barrels.
