2011 Domaine Alfred - Syrah Califa Chamisal Vineyard

A winery selection, the 2011 Syrah Califa Selection is slightly more rich and layered than the straight Syrah. Black raspberry, cassis, pepper, lavender and hints of wild herbs all show here, and it too shows the cooler nature of the vintage with its medium-bodied, supple, elegant and light texture. It too is well made, balanced and long, and will have 4-5 years of prime drinking.
