Limpid red. Intriguing, complex bouquet displays crushed red berries, anise, musky herbs and a hint of dried rose. Juicy, incisive redcurrant and bitter cherry flavors become sweeter with air, picking up dusty tannins on the back half. A floral note comes forward on the finish, which lingers with very good clarity and spicy persistence. This one-and-a-half-acre vineyard was planted in 1974, but this is the first time it got a separate bottling.
