Score 88/100 · Drink 2013-2018, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2012
The 2009 Swinto Malbec is also from the Alto Agrelo Valley but is aged for eighteen months in new French oak. It has a lifted, minty, cedar nose that is driven by the oak, with touches of chocolate developing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with dry, toasty tannins and a solid core of toasty blackberry and orange rind on the finish that needs more length to justify the price tag. Drink 2013-2018.
